Storm Vs Mariners

Off to an exciting start to the season, the newly formed Mariners jumped in the lead by 5 points at the end of the first quarter.  Storm caught a break in the second and came back to within one point at halftime.  Mariners regrouped and came out fighting in the third and won the game in the end 50 - 41.

Sounders Vs Seahawks

The Seahawks had a great start to their season as they led the game every quarter.  The Seahawk shooters were on fire despite some very fierce defending in the circle.  Seahawks were the winners 52-44.

Oct 9th

Storm Vs Sounders

It was a close first quarter as Sounders took the lead at the end by just 2 points.  However, Sounders showed their stuff and Storm couldn't keep up.  In the end it was a resounding Sounders win 44-33.

Mariners Vs Seahawks

Seahawks flew to take the lead in the first and the Mariners couldn't gain it back even though they fought hard throughout the game.  It was a Seahawk victory 40-29.

 Oct 16th

We had a fun, friendly game this week as a team from our club went down to pllay in the Fiji USA Day Tournament in San Francisco.  They won the tournament which was an awesome achievement!

Oct 23rd

Mariners Vs Sounders

Sounders were on fine form and took the court with such ferocity that Mariners didn't know what hit them.  There was some awesome shooting going on in their cicrle and Mariners couldn't defend fast enough.  Mariners did their absolute best, but it wasn't enough in the end.  Sounders win it 57-35.

Storm Vs Seahawks

Storm took the court determined to show what they're made of and ended the first quarter in the lead.  However, Seahawks showed their former championship wings and took the lead from the second.  In the end it was a Seahawks win 42-32.

Oct 29th

Mariners Vs Storm

Both teams were off to a great start, going goal for goal and ending the quarter in a 12 all tie. Mariners upped up their defence in the circle and came out in the lead by the end of the second. Storm shortened that lead in the 3rd, but it wasn't enough and Mariners came out on top in the end.  Mariners win it 42-33.

Sounders Vs Seahawks

Seahawks flew away with the lead in the first quarter as Sounders struggled to get some goals in.  Sounders regrouped and came back fighting, but they were still down in the second.  At the end of the third a loose ball accidently hit the fire alarm which meant we all had to evacuate!  Doh!  Game was called at the end of the third with a Seahawks win 31-16.

Nov 6th

We had a friendly game this week as we had a team of players in Nashville, TN playing in the Netball America National Championships!  Everyone had a great time and played hard.  We finished 4th in the Mixed Championships.

Nov 13th

Storm V Sounders

With Storm having difficulty rounding up players, it looked like a bad start.  However, a few players turned up at the last minute so they were able to take the court without penalty.  Sounders took the lead in the first and second, but Storm came back in the 3rd to tie it 21 all.  The fourth quarter was a nailbiter as each team scored goal for goal!  Sounders got the last goal in before the whistle to win it 31 - 30.  Fantastic game!

Mariners Vs Seahawks

Mariners took the court prepared to fight hard against the reigning Seahawks.  The first quarter was an exciting one ending with Seahawks just one point up.  Second quarter fell heavily to Seahawks favour as the Mariners struggled to get the goals in.  Third quarter saw a much better result for Mariners as the team focused and re-positioned on the court.  However, it wasn't enough to beat the Seahawks who won it 42-30.

Storm Vs Brewzers

A great start to the season!  This was a very close and exciting match, but Storm pulled out all the stops and won it in the end.  Final score 33-28.

Seahawks Vs Sounders

Another great game which had both teams tied at half time after Sounders were down by more than 10 in the first.  Seahawks pulled away in the third, but Sounders responded in the fourth and won the game with a final score of 30-28.

April 2nd

Brewzers Vs Seahawks

Brewzers managed to take the lead and hold it for the first half, but Seahawks came back fighting in the third and fourth and won it 32-27.

Sounders Vs Storm

Sounders found their shooting game in the second quarter, but Storm ran away with the game winning it 40-27.

Apr 9th

Brewzers Vs Sounders

Brewzers lead every quarter but Sounders pushed hard in the fourth for a nailbiting finish!  Brewzers won it 19-18.

Storm Vs Seahawks

Storm trailed by 3 points in the first and second and brought it to 1 point in the third.  However, Seahawks were determined to fight for this win and kept the lead.  Seahawks won 34-31.

Apr 16th

Sounders Vs Seahawks

Sounders managed to break the Seahawks and win it 23-17.

Brewzers Vs Storm

Storm weren't able to gather a team so unfortunately, they had to forfeit.  Brewzers automatically win the match.

Apr 23rd

This was our Annual ANZAC Day Tournament so there were no scheduled games.  Here are the results from the day:

UK - Winners with 22 points

North America - 2nd place with 19 points

Fiji 2 - 3rd place with 17 points

New Zealand - 4th place with 16 points

Fiji 3 - 5th place with 15 points

Australia - 6th place with 12 points

Fiji 1 - 7th place with 5 points

May 7th

Seahawks Vs Brewzers

The Seahawks flew away in the first half showing strong shooting skills and great defence.  However, the Brewzers managed to rally round and get past their defence and brought the score to a tie at the end of the third.  Their determination paid off as the Brewzers won the game 32-29.

Sounders Vs Storm

Storm started off with some great shooting and took the lead early in the first.  The Sounders responded by putting out their best defence and only allowed Storm one goal in the second while getting the score within one point.  However, their defence was not enough to hold the force of the Storm who blew away to win it 17-13.

May 14th

Brewzers Vs Sounders

The Brewzers got off to a good start and managed to keep the lead throughout.  The Sounders tried to rally in the second half, but the Brewzers held them off and won the game 34-21.

Storm Vs Seahawks

This was a nailbiter of a game with some fantastic playing by both teams. Storm lead by 1 point in the first and then expanded it to 3 points in the second.  The Seahawks came screaching back at them in the third and got within 1 point again. In the fourth quarter the Seahawks managed to ride the Storm and win the game 26-25.

May 21st

Seahawks Vs Sounders

The Sounders found their game today and made sure that every remembered why they should not be taken lightly!  They lead every quarter and nothing the Seahawks did could phase them this week.  Final score was 37-23 for a Sounders win.

Brewzers Vs Storm 

Storm were a force to be reckoned with this week as they showed us what their team can do when they are all in sync!  The Brewzers only managed one goal in the first quarter to their detriment and were not able to make up that deficit.  However, the Brewzers found their rhythm in the next quarters and made a better showing of it as they were determined NOT to be creamed!  Final score was 41-32 to Storm.

Brewzers Vs Seahawks

The Seahawks flew to a resounding victory as they lead in every quarter and didn't give the Brewzers a chance to leave their mark.  Final score was 41-27 for a Seahawks win. 

Storm Vs Sounders

This was a closely fought game with Storm coming out strong and taking the lead in the first quarter. Sounders re-grouped in the second and took the lead by 3 points. Storm fought hard in the third bringing it to 2 points difference, but it wasn't enough.  Sounders took the win 38-36.

Brewzers Vs Sounders

Brewzers fought very hard, but Sounders pulled ahead in the first and second to make it seem like they had it in the bag.  However, Brewzers came back hard and determined in the 3rd quarter to bring the game within one point!  Sounders upped their game in return and won in the end 37-33.

Storm Vs Seahawks

Storm nearly had to concede defeat before the game even started, however, eventually they had enough players to take the court.  After some tough love by the officials and down by 5 points before the whistle even blew, they knew they had a tough road ahead.  Seahawks were bouyed by the extra 5 points and fought very hard to make sure they kept it.  They played their best and it worked until the 4th quarter. A very determined Storm team put everything they had into the final minutes and took the win by 1 POINT!!  What a FANTASTIC GAME!  Final score was 24-23 for Storm.

July 9th - FINALS!

Seahawks Vs Brewzers - for 3rd place

Brewzers had their ENTIRE team here for this game and showed the Seahawks why they were such an indomitable force throughout the season!  The shooters were on form and the defence was too tough for Seahawks to break through.  Final score was 48-18.  Congratulations, Brewzers!

Storm Vs Sounders - for 1st place

With Storm on the back foot already because they were short on their key players, they played their hardest but it wasn't enough for the force of the Sounders team who also had most of their core team there.  It was a close game for the first half, but Sounders managed to pull away and win it convincingly.  Final score was 38-23. Well played, Sounders!
